Why does my photocopier print black page?

Whether I set the copier to bleak or light print out, it still prints black.

Why does my photocopier print black page?

PHOTOSTATIC DRUM OR BELT;

drum/belt get a charge, the light coming from the top of the tool discharges the drum/belt in the white/light areas. the black/darker areas do not bring back discharged.

the drum then pass by the toner powder and sticks to the drum/belt in the charged areas.

another oposite and stronger charge below the paper pulls the toner from the drum/belt to the tabloid and then the rag runs through a heated roller to melt the toner to the broadsheet.

No light lower than the copy glass....the drum/belt doesn't discharge and you achieve a full black paper.

ring up service unless you are handy. Not that difficult, but if you are not comfortable in power-driven disassembly, call service.
