mine keep screwing up the composition and causing the print to be smudged, it is an Epson Stylus C64 inkjet
which printer is suitable for printing onto verbs newspaper (used for ironing onto t shirts)?
It is probably because the C64 uses dye-based inks to some extent than pigment-based. Pigment-based inks are generally more expensive and end longer, thus they are recommended for serious users. Smudging is one thing that could be fixed by using an Epson that have pigment-based inks. Someone did an article for PC Magazine where they asked printer manufacturer questions and one of them deal with deed smearing problems.

Check the Transfer Paper or the manufacturers, some are laser printable some are designed for Photocopiers. Do not put Transfer tabloid into photocopiers or laser printers without checking this first as it may render the machines unusable.
use the epson verbs paper. Epson have a different method of distributing ink than any other printer. For best results you should always use composition designed for Epsons.
